Johnny Mathis is celebrating 52 years in the music business with a leisurely run of North American dates stretching into 2009.The legendary entertainer currently has up to four shows per month on his itinerary through January. His next gig is scheduled for July 11-12 in Pittsburgh, PA. Two-night stands are also booked in Westbury, NY; Branson, MO; Santa Rosa, CA; Palm Desert, CA; Las Vegas; and the Canadian cities of Windsor and Rama, Ontario. Details are listed below.Mathis is supporting his April release, "A Night to Remember," which comprises a host of classic hits including "We're In This Love Together," "Walk On By," "Just The Two Of Us" and "The Closer I Get To You." The record features guest performances by Dave Koz, Kenny G, Gladys Knight, Yolanda Adams and Mone't. The new release follows a set of 50th anniversary albums and a DVD that Mathis released in 2006.The 72-year-old singer broke through in 1957 with his debut album, "Wonderful Wonderful," which spawned the No. 1 hit "Chances Are." A year later, he released a greatest-hits set that spent almost 10 years on the album chart and made it into the "Guinness Book of World Records," according to his bio.Mathis has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame twice--in 1998 for "Chances Are" and in 2002 for "Misty." The Grammy organization also honored him with a Lifetime Achievement award in 2003.
